Pula Croatia
By Max | September 15, 2008
After leaving Budapest, we took the long way around to get to Pula, Croatia. Along the way we made a short stop in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was a small town and everything was closed on Sunday, so I am glad we hadn`t planned to spend the night there. We saw the castle and moved on. Slovenia was the first eastern country that we´ve been to which uses the Euro, so that was convenient.
Unfortunately, we arrived in Croatia during some unseasonably cold weather. The bus ride I took to get here was pretty scenic though so that was nice. Pula is known for some Roman ruins, so today I think we are going to try to get out and see some of them. On the way to the hotel last night we passed a huge structure that looked like the Rome Coliseum. I am sure the one here is smaller, but it looked pretty cool anyway.

I am glad you made it to Croatia! We really loved Croatia. We flew into Pula. It is a really small airport and I was probably the first US Passport they had seen because they had to take it away to determine if they could enter into the country without a visa. I had already checked the Croatia Embassy web site before I left to make sure I could enter without a visa. We found the people there very friendly and the food, beer and wine was excellent! ! I hope you will also find it very nice.

Hey Max, how was Pula man? It looks very interesting from up here for sure but I don’t see any beaches. Still pretty warm back home. Have fun!
