Weekend Update
By Max | April 15, 2007
On Friday I played in a poker tournament with some folks from work. I finished 3rd out of 12, so I got my money back which was $20. Second place paid out $40, and first received $180. I won the thing the last time I played, but this time I didn’t get lucky when I needed it towards the end. Fortunately I was lucky enough to make it into the top 3. I went out with A6 all in preflop against a guy who called me with Q9. I don’t know what he was thinking, but he hit his two pair and busted me.
Today, Diana and I went to the Scottsdale Culinary Festival. It’s kind of interesting here how I never feel the need to venture into Phoenix. All the cool stuff like today’s culinary festival happen in Scottsdale. Most of the time I just hang out in Scottsdale, Tempe or Chandler. Even if I want to go to an NFL game or NASCAR race, the venues are not actually in Phoenix, although I do have to drive through Phoenix to get to Glendale (NFL) or Avondale (NASCAR).

So you moved to “Phoenix” and don’t actually go to Phoenix? Pretty funny!
You need to sharpen your poker skills if you are going to win the WSOP anytime soon.
